"I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!" cackles the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1939 movie classic "Wizard of Oz".
It was my favourite movie as a child. I was both terrified and mesmerized by the Wicked Witch of the West and her flying monkeys. Her long green nose, her grand entrance in a cloud of orange smoke, and the way she zooms through the sky on her broom. She remains one of my favourite villains to this day.
The movie was adapted from the book "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" written by L. Frank Baum in 1900.
